Phuong Lich Communal House
According to historical records, Phuong Lich communal house was built during the reign of King Tu Duc the 20th (1866). In 1930, under the leadership of the Nam Khoan Party Cell, the organizations: Red Farmers' Association, Red Self-Defense, and Women's Liberation were established and operated widely. Phuong Lich communal house became a meeting place, a place for printing documents, newspapers, leaflets, and a place where hundreds of people from the villages of Phuong Lich, Trung Hau, Dong Phai, Trang Khe and surrounding villages took place on November 7, 1930.

The French colonialists suppressed the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement in a sea of blood... In Phuong Lich village, they arrested comrades: Pham Can, Vu Phuong, Tran Cau, Cao Phuc, gathered them in the communal house for interrogation, then sent them to prison in the district and province... From 1936 to 1939, Dien Chau had a party committee with 15 branches including 87 party members, using the name of the guild organizations as a base to cover up the enemy. Phuong Lich communal house became the center of activities of the guild organizations at that time. In October 1944, comrade Bui Tu Cuong, on behalf of the Dien Chau Party Committee, returned to organize the first Communist Party of Vietnam branch in Phuong Lich, consisting of 4 party members, with comrade Pham Duan as the branch secretary. Under the direction of Phuong Lich branch, the revolutionary movement here developed strongly among all classes of people...
Phuong Lich Communal House has degraded and is in dire need of restoration.
Nearly 70 years have passed, but Mr. Cao Van Tan, one of the four surviving pre-uprising cadres, still remembers the atmosphere of the uprising day: “On August 20, 1945, comrades in the Dien Chau District Party Committee convened an emergency meeting at Phuong Lich communal house to discuss the plan to seize power in the provincial capital, directly led by comrade Pham Duan. To avoid bloodshed for the masses in the struggle, comrade Pham Hoan was assigned to command the self-defense force to control the provincial government and disarm the blue-clad soldiers. The captured weapons, including 14 guns, were hidden at Phuong Lich communal house in preparation for the uprising to seize power. At exactly 8:00 a.m. on August 21, 1945, the red flag with a yellow star flew on the roof of Phuong Lich communal house, marking the complete defeat of the local feudal and landlord forces. After the village chief's seal was recovered, Phuong Lich communal house became the workplace of the Uprising Committee and the headquarters of the administrative committee. provisional resistance of Phuong Lich commune. Since 1946, Phuong Lich communal house has been the site of many revolutionary activities, the place where the farewell ceremony for the village boys who set out to fight the enemy to save the country was held in response to President Ho Chi Minh's call for national resistance. Many meaningful activities have been organized, many leaders of our Party and State have visited this historic communal house.
In August 1947, the Inter-Zone IV Trade Union organized a Congress and exhibition of resistance achievements at Phuong Lich communal house for 7 days, comrade Ho Tung Mau - Chairman of the Inter-Zone Resistance Committee attended. In December 1948, the Nghe An Provincial Youth Festival Congress was held at Phuong Lich communal house, Major General Nguyen Son attended and spoke at the congress. From 1951-1952, the communal house was the location of the Tam Hop - Dien Chau textile factory to supply fabric for the National Guard troops. Also at this communal house, the 304th Division organized activities to "train soldiers and train cadres" to prepare for the 1951-1952 Winter-Spring Campaign, comrade General Vo Nguyen Giap visited and spoke to the division...
Today, Phuong Lich communal house is not only a meeting place but also a spiritual place for Dien Hoa people. In 2003, Phuong Lich communal house was recognized as a provincial historical relic.
