Xuan Dao Communal House (Yen Thanh) receives certificate of recognition as a provincial relic

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 8, 2015 (ie December 20, Giap Ngo year), the Party Committee and People's Committee of Hong Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, solemnly held a ceremony to receive the Certificate of provincial-level relic ranking for Xuan Dao communal house. The ceremony attracted a large number of people and tourists from all over the country to attend.

Leaders of Nghe An Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism awarded the relic recognition certificate to representatives of Yen Thanh District People's Committee and Hong Thanh Commune People's Committee.

Xuan Dao Communal House is an ancient architectural work, built by the people more than 200 years ago to worship the village's tutelary gods, typically Mr. Vuong Chinh Phap and Ha Phuc Duc, Dang Phuc Toan, who are also the ancestors of the three great families who first settled in this area. These are the people who have contributed to the reclamation of most of the land in Hong Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district today. After their death, to commemorate their contributions, the royal court conferred and honored the three of them as the village's tutelary gods and assigned the people of Xuan Dao village, now Hong Thanh commune, to build a temple to worship and burn incense.

Besides the function of worshiping the tutelary gods, before the August Revolution of 1945, the church was also a secret meeting place for local Party organizations to prepare for the people's demonstration to seize power. During the anti-American period, Xuan Dao communal house was the base of a number of armed forces and local soldiers... Currently, the relic still preserves many valuable artifacts such as rare parallel sentences, royal decrees, parallel sentences, palanquins...

With valuable documents and artifacts still preserved at the relic, to preserve and promote the cultural value of the relic in the short and long term, on December 11, 2014, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 6946/QD.UBND recognizing Xuan Dao communal house relic as a provincial historical relic.
