Do Luong celebrates the 55th anniversary of Truong Son Troops' Traditional Day

(Baonghean.vn) - SOn the morning of May 16, Do Luong district held a ceremony to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Truong Son Troops' Traditional Day (May 19, 1959 - May 19, 2014).

At the ceremony, the delegates reviewed the heroic tradition of our people's resistance war against the US to save the country, especially the glorious feats of arms of the Truong Son army. Together with the people of the whole country, Do Luong had tens of thousands of people participating in the Truong Son army. Those soldiers overcame all difficulties and fought bravely to defeat all plots of the US imperialists to contribute to the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. Among them, there were 4,143 martyrs who heroically sacrificed on the battlefields, 3,695 comrades were wounded and sick soldiers of all ranks.

The war has ended 39 years ago, now the Truong Son soldiers of the past are still united, loving and helping each other in life, many people have strived to overcome hunger, reduce poverty and enrich themselves legitimately. In 2013, the Truong Son Soldiers Liaison Committee of the district was established, up to now there are more than 1,600 members participating in 13 branches with the purpose of gathering members to participate in educating traditions for the younger generation, helping each other in economic development, visiting and supporting poor members who actively participate in local revolutionary movements. In the past nearly 2 years, the liaison committee has organized visits and gifts for dozens of members in difficult circumstances, and mobilized members to support 45 million VND to build 2 gratitude houses for comrade Hoang Dinh Cai in Tru Son commune and comrade Thai Doan Hoi in Thinh Son commune, and organized visits to the old battlefield.

Returning to normal life, the Truong Son soldiers of the past still maintain the nature of revolutionary soldiers loyal to the Party, filial to the people, taking care of building life, family and society. The Truong Son soldiers of Do Luong district today have made many positive contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. They are examples for the young generations of today and tomorrow to forever remember, to learn from, and to train their determination to protect the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty over the sea and islands.
