Cuban Embassy delegation visits and works in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 6, a delegation of the Cuban Embassy led by Mr. Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam, visited and worked in Nghe An.

Receiving and working with the delegation were comrade: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Department of Health, Department of Foreign Affairs; leaders of Nghi Loc district and Nam Dan district.

The Cuban Embassy delegation visited Kim Lien National Special Relic Site (Nam Dan) to offer flowers and incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh.

Over the past 60 years, the solidarity and brotherhood between Vietnam and Cuba, founded by President Ho Chi Minh and President Fidel Castro, has been continuously promoted and grown stronger. "For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to sacrifice its own blood" - the immortal words of Cuban President Fidel Castro have been deeply imprinted in the hearts of generations of Vietnamese people, deeply expressing the brotherhood and comradeship between Vietnam and Cuba during the fierce war years and in the current process of national construction and innovation.

In the face of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, the solidarity and mutual support between Vietnam and Cuba have been demonstrated strongly, specifically and practically. Cuba has sent experts to Vietnam to exchange experiences in responding to the pandemic and donated thousands of doses of vaccines and medicines to support the prevention and treatment of Covid-19. Vietnam also donated 5,000 tons of rice and some other medical equipment to Cuba.

During this visit, the delegation visited Nghi Phong Commune Health Station, Nghi Loc District to inspect the injection of Abdalda Covid-19 vaccine produced by Cuba. This time, Nghe An province was allocated nearly 440 thousand doses of Abdalda vaccine by the Central Government; localities have deployed the injection since the beginning of the week and will complete the injection today.

Implementing the agreement between the two countries' high-level leaders, Cuba has provided Vietnam with 5 million doses of Abdalda vaccine and is currently considering providing 5 million doses of vaccine for children; at the same time, it will coordinate to implement the transfer of vaccine production technology in the coming time.
