Central Road Maintenance Fund delegation works in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 22, the Central Road Maintenance Fund delegation led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh - Deputy Minister of Finance, Vice Chairman of the Central Road Maintenance Fund Council had a working session with the Department of Transport on road maintenance work and inspected the disbursement of road maintenance funds. Attending the working session on the provincial side was Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 22, the Central Road Maintenance Fund delegation led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh - Deputy Minister of Finance, Vice Chairman of the Central Road Maintenance Fund Council had a working session with the Department of Transport on road maintenance work and inspected the disbursement of road maintenance funds. Attending the working session on the provincial side was Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Before that, the delegation offered incense and flowers to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the Kim Lien historical site in Nam Dan district and offered flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs of Truong Bon Youth Volunteers and inspected a number of routes.

At the meeting, the delegation listened to the Nghe An Road Maintenance Fund Council report on the disbursement of the road maintenance fund. According to the 2013 plan, the budget for management, maintenance, and flood recovery of entrusted national highways, local roads, and waterways is over 134 billion VND. Up to now, the Nghe An Road Maintenance Fund Council has disbursed over 46 billion VND, of which over 30 billion VND is for regular repairs. The local fund has established delegations to inspect, survey, and allocate the above budget to urgently repair a number of provincial and district roads.

At the meeting, the Nghe An Road Maintenance Fund Council had a number of proposals and recommendations to the Central Road Maintenance Fund Council: Increase the cost of managing and maintaining the entrusted national highways; allocate an additional 35% of the central fund for the Nghe An Road Maintenance Fund. In 2013, Nghe An suffered many impacts from floods that damaged many roads. The province requested the central government to allocate funds to repair and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Thi Minh acknowledged the efforts of the Nghe An Road Maintenance Fund Council in road repair management. Regarding the recommendations and proposals of the Nghe An Road Maintenance Fund Council, the delegation will soon submit them to the Central Road Maintenance Fund Council to promptly resolve funding sources, helping the province overcome the consequences caused by floods./.
