Con Dao historical relic site is one of the largest, oldest and most important relics of the country. During 113 years of domination (1862 - 1975), the French colonialists and the American imperialists imprisoned and tortured hundreds of thousands of revolutionary soldiers and patriots of many generations. They turned Con Dao into the infamous "Hell on Earth". But it was also here that the revolutionary soldiers demonstrated their indomitable will to fight, maintaining the integrity of the communists. Since then, Con Dao has received the admiration of our people and the people of the world; Con Dao is considered a sacred land, a symbol of Vietnamese Revolutionary Heroism.

Immediately after arriving here, the provincial delegation offered incense at Hang Duong Cemetery, commemorating tens of thousands of revolutionary soldiers and Vietnamese patriots through many generations who were exiled and heroically sacrificed under the brutal yoke of colonialism and imperialism. The delegation offered incense at the tomb of the late General Secretary Le Hong Phong; heroine Vo Thi Sau and patriot Nguyen An Ninh; visited the Con Dao historical relic site, Con Dao Prison - where the colonialists once imprisoned many patriotic farmers and scholars in the Can Vuong, Dong Du, Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc movements; tens of thousands of cadres and party members such as comrades Ngo Gia Tu, Nguyen Van Cu, Ton Duc Thang, Le Hong Phong, Pham Van Dong, Ha Huy Giap, Le Duan, Pham Hung, Le Duc Tho, Nguyen Van Linh, etc.

At the tomb of the late General Secretary Le Hong Phong, on behalf of the Party Committee and people of Nghe An province, comrade Phan Dinh Trac - Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee promised: The Party Committee and people of the province are determined to build Nghe An to develop more and more comprehensively, to become a prosperous province as Uncle Ho always wished, worthy of the great contributions and heroic sacrifices of comrade Le Hong Phong as well as millions of other heroic martyrs to create a peaceful, independent and free life today....
