On the occasion of the 66th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2013), on the afternoon of July 27, the delegation of Nghe An province led by comrades Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee came to lay wreaths and offer incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Martyrs' Cemeteries of Dien Bien province.

(Baonghean.vn) -On the occasion of the 66th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2013), on the afternoon of July 27, the delegation of Nghe An province led by comrades Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee came to lay wreaths and offer incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Martyrs' Cemeteries of Dien Bien province.

Also going to Dien Bien province were comrades Lo Mai Trinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mua A Son - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Dien Bien province currently has 3 National Martyrs' Cemeteries: Doc Lap, Him Lam and A1 cemetery, with many martyrs' cemeteries of the province, the youth volunteer cemetery gathers more than 8,000 martyrs' graves, of which the Golden Board recording the names of martyrs has more than 730 martyrs from Nghe An, 30 martyrs with known names, ages, and hometowns.

Comrades Ho Duc Phoc, Nguyen Xuan Duong and leaders of Dien Bien province offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs.

At the Independence Cemetery in Thanh Nua Commune, Dien Bien District, in a solemn and respectful atmosphere, the delegation of Nghe An Province laid wreaths and burned incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs - those who heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people. The wreath of the delegation bore the words "Forever remember the merits of the heroic martyrs", expressing the deep gratitude and appreciation of the Party Committee, Government and People of Nghe An Province - expressing the morality of "drinking water, remembering its source" of the nation towards the heroic martyrs, those who sacrificed their blood and bones for the cause of national liberation.

During the two resistance wars against France and the US to save the country and to participate in international duties in Laos, Nghe An province as well as other localities in the country had hundreds of thousands of martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the country, including their contribution to the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu that shook the world. The Doc Lap Martyrs' Cemetery currently gathers nearly 2,500 martyrs' graves, including 7 martyrs from Nghe An. Here, on behalf of the working delegation, comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee wrote in the Golden Board of the Martyrs' Cemetery, promising to uphold the spirit of solidarity and determination to strive to build Nghe An - the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh to develop more and more, contributing to building a strong and prosperous country.

Next, the delegation laid wreaths and burned incense in memory of the heroic martyrs at Tong Khao Commune Martyrs Cemetery. This is the resting place of 2,300 martyrs, including 12 graves of martyrs who are children of Nghe An homeland and are being cared for by cadres, soldiers and people of Dien Bien province.

At Him Lam Cemetery in Him Lam Ward, Dien Bien Phu City, the delegation also laid wreaths, burned incense to commemorate and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs. This cemetery was gathered and built during the period from 1957 to 1960, upgraded and completed in 1995, with a total built area of ​​1.7 hectares, gathering 869 martyrs' graves.



Nghe An has 731 martyrs resting at martyr cemeteries in Dien Bien province.

Also on the afternoon of July 27, the delegation of Nghe An province visited and paid tribute to the heroic martyrs at A1 cemetery, Muong Thanh ward, Dien Bien Phu city. This cemetery currently has 644 martyrs' graves, including the resting place of 4 heroic martyrs: To Vinh Dien, Phan Dinh Giot, Be Van Dan and Tran Can. A1 cemetery is one of the historical and cultural works - cemetery parks of Dien Bien province.

Tomorrow, July 28, the working delegation of Nghe An province will have a working session with the leaders of Dien Bien province.
