The Government Ethnic Committee delegation worked in Con Cuong

(Baonghean.vn) - On August 25, a working delegation of the Government's Ethnic Committee and the Ministry of Planning and Investment visited and worked in Con Cuong district. ComradeSon Phuoc Hoan -Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Committee as head of the delegation.

Here, the delegation inspected the implementation of the policy to support migration and settlement for ethnic minorities from 2008 to June 2014, evaluated and reviewed each concentrated settlement project, the mechanism and the current status of integrating capital sources. Inspected the implementation results of Program 135, inspected the results of reviewing extremely difficult villages and communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period of 2012-2015 as prescribed in Circular No. 01/2012/TT-UBDT dated October 24, 2012 of the Ethnic Committee on guiding the implementation of Decision No. 30/2012/QD-TTg dated April 17, 2012 of the Prime Minister.

The delegation visited and worked in two particularly difficult communes, Don Phuc and Chau Khe.At Don Phuc, the delegation listened to the representative of Don Phuc commune's leadership report on the socio-economic development situation.defense -security in the first 6 months of 2014 and the results of reviewing and classifying especially difficult villages and hamlets, communes in regions I, II, III in 2014. Some proposals requesting superiors to solve problems such as: the poverty rate of the commune is still high at 52.8%, only 2/7 villages and hamlets have achieved cultural village status, the whole commune has 4/19 new rural criteria, job creation is ineffective, trade and services are almost undeveloped, transportation is still difficult, agricultural land is scarce. The delegation inspected the lives in the villages: Tong To, Tong Tien; irrigation situation and gave gifts to 3 poor households: Lu Dinh Oanh; Luong Van Van and Vi Van Nhan.

Visiting people of Don Phuc commune

In Chau Khe commune, the delegation inspected the new resettlement planning area in Khe Nong area, Chau Khe border commune. Previously, the Dan Lai ethnic people lived here, their lives were difficult due to traffic barriers. In 1979, the Party and State organized resettlement in Chau Son village, Chau Khe commune. Currently, due to lack of production land, 30 households have returned to the old area to live. To stabilize the lives of the people with the support of the State, Con Cuong district re-planned the residential land, production land, and welfare works for 50 households, of which 20 households were relocated from Chau Son village. The total cost is 19.2 billion VND. Currently, the project is being implemented with more than 4 billion VND, reclaiming 9.7 hectares of land for wet rice cultivation to serve the winter crop in 2014. As for production land for the people, the district has recovered and compensated 73 hectares of production land of the Con Cuong Forestry One Member Company. The delegation also visited teachers and students of the satellite school of Chau Khe Primary School. After the visit and inspection, the delegation recorded opinions to submit to the Central Government for consideration and resolution.

After the working trip in Con Cuong, the delegation will visit and work in Tuong Duong and Quy Hop districts.
