A delegation from the Lao Ministry of Finance visits Nghe An.

(Baonghean.vn) -At the invitation of the Minister of Finance of Vietnam, from July 29 to August 3, 2013, a delegation from the Ministry of Finance of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, led by Deputy Minister of Finance San-Ti-Phap Phom-Vi-Han, visited, worked with, and held exchanges with the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam in Cua Lo town.

After arriving in Vietnam and visiting Cua Lo town, on the morning of July 31st, the delegation from the Lao Ministry of Finance paid a courtesy visit to the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Office. Welcoming the delegation were: Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Thai Van Hang - Member of the Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and representatives from relevant departments and agencies. The Vietnamese Ministry of Finance delegation was led by Mr. Nguyen Ba Toan - Director of the International Cooperation Department.

At the meeting, on behalf of the provincial leadership, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong reported to the representatives of the two Ministries on the socio-economic development situation of the province in 2012 and the first six months of 2013; the natural conditions and results of international cooperation between Nghe An and the border provinces of Laos in the past period, including the results of investment and trade cooperation between Nghe An and the provinces of Laos, the results of cooperation in education and training, culture and tourism, the territorial situation, border demarcation and the collection of remains of martyrs, etc.

After listening to the report on some situations from the leaders of Nghe An province, Mr. San-Ti-Phap Phom-Vi-Han, Deputy Minister of Finance of Laos, expressed his gratitude for the sincere and respectful welcome extended by Nghe An province to the delegation; at the same time, he highly appreciated the results and potential for cooperation between Nghe An and the provinces of Laos in the past and in the future.

Following the welcoming ceremony and information exchange, the delegation from the Lao Ministry of Finance visited the Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum to see the thematic exhibition room on the life and career of Comrade Kaysone Phomvihane, Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party. There, as the head of the delegation and the son of the late Chairman Kaysone Phomvihane, after learning that Nghe An, the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh, had a thematic room displaying his father's life and career, Comrade Santiphap Phomvihane, Deputy Minister of Finance of Laos, expressed his emotion and gratitude for the affection shown by the Party Committee and people of Nghe An towards the Lao people in general and the revolutionary cause of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party in particular.
