Nghe An delegation commemorates heroic martyrs at Truong Son cemetery and Road 9

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 17, a delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province and representatives of leaders of departments, agencies, organizations, and armed forces in the province came to lay wreaths and offer incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the National Martyrs' Cemetery on Road 9 and the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery in Quang Tri province.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council led the delegation. This is an activity to celebrate the 69th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2016).

The National Road 9 Martyrs' Cemetery is the resting place of 10,087 heroic martyrs who fought and served on the Road 9 front, the Quang Tri battlefield and Laos during the resistance war against the US, including 220 martyrs from Nghe An.

Here, the delegation of Nghe An province respectfully offered flowers and incense at the Uncle Ho Memorial House, the Central Cemetery Memorial, the Memorial Stele and each grave of the martyrs of Nghe An homeland.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and delegates offered incense to commemorate the great contributions of the generation of fathers and brothers.

The delegation respectfully burned incense at the graves of martyrs in Nghe An province.

The delegation offered incense and flowers at the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery. This is one of 72 martyrs' cemeteries in Quang Tri province, a relic closely associated with the heroic history of the 559th Army Corps and the youth volunteer force that fought bravely for 16 years on the front line and the legendary Truong Son road.

Truong Son Cemetery currently has 10,263 soldiers resting in peace, including 1,297 martyrs' graves who are children of Nghe An province.

On behalf of the working delegation, comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Nghe An province presented gifts to the Management Board of Truong Son Cemetery.

Delegates rang the bell to pray for the souls of the heroic martyrs.

With sincere respect, the delegation of Nghe An province expressed deep gratitude and infinite sorrow for the heroic and noble sacrifice of the martyrs who fell for the independence and freedom of the nation.

We pledge before the souls of the martyrs that the Party Committee and people of Nghe An province are determined to make every effort to promote the emulation movement and production labor to build the homeland of beloved Uncle Ho to become increasingly rich and civilized.
