Nghe An delegation commemorates heroic martyrs at Truong Son cemetery and Road 9
(Baonghean.vn) - On July 5, a delegation of Nghe An province offered incense at the National Martyrs' Cemetery on Road 9 and the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery.
The delegation was led by Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation. Accompanying him were Comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province and representatives of departments, branches, organizations, and armed forces in the province.

The delegation offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the National Martyrs' Cemetery on Road 9 and the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery in Quang Tri province.
During the two great, long-lasting resistance wars of the nation, together with the people of the whole country, Nghe An had tens of thousands of outstanding children joining the army, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers on all battlefields as well as serving in combat at home.
The whole province has more than 45,000 martyrs who heroically sacrificed, more than 56,000 wounded and sick soldiers.
In gratitude to the heroic martyrs and wounded and sick soldiers who sacrificed their blood and youth for the eternal Fatherland, over the past time, the Party Committee and people of Nghe An province have done a good job of repaying gratitude, taking good care of the families of wounded and fallen soldiers, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and families with meritorious services to the revolution; educating the revolutionary tradition for the young generation of the province.

The National Road 9 Martyrs' Cemetery is the resting place of 10,087 heroic martyrs who fought and served on the Road 9 front, the Quang Tri battlefield and Laos during the resistance war against the US, including 220 martyrs from Nghe An.
Truong Son Cemetery currently has 10,263 soldiers resting in peace, including 1,297 graves of martyrs who are children of Nghe An province. This is one of 72 martyr cemeteries in Quang Tri province, a relic closely associated with the heroic history of the 559th Corps and the youth volunteer force who fought bravely for 16 years on the legendary Truong Son road.

Today, the National Road 9 Martyrs' Cemetery and the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery are places of honor and shining symbols of revolutionary heroism, of the spirit and will to fight for independence and the aspiration for peace of our people.
At the two cemeteries, the delegation of Nghe An province respectfully offered flowers and incense at the Uncle Ho Memorial House, the Cemetery Center Memorial, the Memorial Stele and each grave of the martyrs of Nghe An homeland.
With sincere respect, the delegation of Nghe An province expressed deep gratitude and infinite sorrow for the heroic and noble sacrifice of the martyrs who fell for the independence and freedom of the nation.
