Delegation of Nghe An National Assembly visited and worked in Xieng Khouang (Laos)
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 25, the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province led by Comrade Nguyen Thanh Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the province visited and worked in Xieng Khouang province.
Implementing the Memorandum of Understanding between the two National Assembly Delegations of Nghe An Province (Vietnam) and Xieng Khouang Province (Laos), on the morning of August 25, the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An Province led by Comrade Nguyen Thanh Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation visited and worked in Xieng Khouang Province.Also attending were Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department; Tran Van Mao - Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; representatives of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and a number of departments and branches.

At the meeting, the two sides informed about the socio-economic development situation and cooperation results between Nghe An and Xieng Khouang provinces in recent times.
In 2016-2017, Nghe An province coordinated with the Vietnam - Laos Cooperation Sub-Committee, the Ministry of Planning and Investment of the two countries to organize the groundbreaking ceremony and implement the investment project to build Xieng Khouang Provincial Friendship Hospital using aid capital from the Vietnamese Government for the Lao Government; train officials, students; organize training and guidance on cultivation and livestock breeding techniques for a number of provincial officials and people of Xieng Khouang province;... In the 2016-2017 school year, there were 130 Xieng Khouang cadres, students and pupils studying at colleges and universities in Nghe An; there were 4 Nghe An students studying at Khang Khay College (Xieng Khouang). |
Also at the meeting, delegates informed and exchanged experiences in the activities of elected agencies and elected representatives in the locality, such as: legislative activities of the National Assembly, promulgation of Resolutions of the Provincial People's Council, experiences in supervision activities, contact with voters of National Assembly deputies, People's Council deputies...
In addition, delegates paid special attention to the role and responsibility of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies in coordinating to solve urgent local issues, preserving and promoting the customs and practices of ethnic minorities.
At the end of the working session, the leaders of the National Assembly delegations of the two provinces signed a memorandum of understanding on coordination activities and cooperation in 2018. During the visit and working period in Xieng Khouang province, the delegates of the delegation offered incense and flowers at the Vietnam - Laos Volunteer Cemetery; visited and presented gifts to the provincial units performing international missions in the neighboring country.
