In addition to the advantages in the operation process, Angkor Milk Factory also faces some difficulties, mainly related to import tax on raw materials. Because the dairy industry is new in Cambodia, raw material areas and dairy farming are not yet developed, so most of the raw materials for production must be imported from Europe and Vietnam with quite high import tax rates.
At the meeting, the leaders of Angkor Milk Factory proposed to the National Assembly and the Government of Vietnam about the bilateral trade agreement between the relevant agencies of Vietnam and Cambodia, focusing on exemption and reduction of import tax on key raw materials for milk production to contribute to supporting the development of the dairy industry in Cambodia.
At the meeting, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan acknowledged and praised the efforts of the factory's leaders and staff, and stated: This is a very successful project of Vinamilk in Cambodia and Angkor Milk Factory will continue to promote those results, strive to produce and do business more effectively, contribute to the state budget and create jobs for Cambodian people...
