Nghe An National Assembly Delegation gives gifts to poor households in Chau Kim commune - Que Phong

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 27, the Nghe An National Assembly Delegation led by Comrade Pham Van Tan - Head of the Nghe An National Assembly Delegation visited and presented gifts to 20 poor households with especially difficult circumstances in Chau Kim commune, Que Phong district. Accompanying them were representatives of the Ethnic Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council, and leaders of Que Phong district.

Before arriving at Chau Kim commune, the delegation offered incense at the Nine-room Temple, a spiritual place of the Thai people, the birthplace of the villages in the region.

As a mountainous commune with mostly Thai ethnic people, Chau Kim commune currently has 24% poor households. With the efforts of the Party, the State, social organizations, and non-governmental projects in Chau Kim commune, last year, along with the drastic participation of the local government, the diligence and hard work of poor households to escape poverty, by the end of 2014, 8 households had escaped poverty and many other households are determined to escape poverty in 2015.

Comrade Pham Van Tan warmly visited the people of Chau Kim commune.

On behalf of the National Assembly Delegation, comrade Pham Van Tan asked poor households to have their aspirations, proposals and recommendations to the Party and State so that poor households can soon escape poverty.

Speaking to the delegation, the ethnic people were very excited and had absolute confidence in the Party and State's guidelines and policies. Although the country is facing difficulties, the State always has policies to care for poor households, especially during holidays and Tet. The State as well as social organizations have gifts for poor households; many hunger eradication and poverty reduction programs, typically Program 135, Program 30A of the Government... The Chau Kim ethnic people thanked the Party and State for their attention, and hoped that there would continue to be many programs and projects for poor communes, poor households, many social organizations, and many kind-hearted people to help the poor escape poverty soon.
