National Assembly supervision delegation works in Quynh Luu district

(Baonghean) -This afternoon (December 14), the National Assembly delegation led by Comrade Do Manh Hung - Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Social Affairs continued to supervise the implementation of policies and laws for people with revolutionary contributions in Quynh Luu district.

Also participating in the monitoring delegation, on the provincial side, were comrade Pham Van Tan - Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An; representatives of the leaders of the Culture - Social Committee, Provincial People's Council, Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs.

Quynh Luu district has 10,785 meritorious people, of which 6,801 people are receiving monthly preferential allowances. Over the years, Quynh Luu district has always paid attention to and cared for meritorious people, fully and promptly paid benefits, without any errors; every year, the district organizes activities to visit and give gifts to meritorious people on the occasions of Lunar New Year, National Day September 2, July 27, etc. In addition, the local government has also implemented a number of preferential policies and regimes in education - training, employment and health care for meritorious people.

Also at the meeting, Quynh Luu district raised a number of difficulties and shortcomings in the implementation of policies and laws for people with meritorious services. The district recommended to the National Assembly, the Government and a number of central ministries and branches to amend a number of regulations on the level of medical examination and treatment benefits for relatives of martyrs to 100%; add a number of subjects requiring regular subsidies; and increase the subsidy level for relatives of martyrs. The current implementation of the exemption and reduction regime and support for study costs for children of people with meritorious services is not appropriate and should be implemented immediately at universities, colleges and vocational high schools.

Concluding the working session, on behalf of the monitoring delegation, comrade Do Manh Hung praised the efforts of the Party Committee, the government, professional agencies and the people of Quynh Luu in the work of gratitude. He noted that the district needs to promote propaganda and dissemination of policies and laws for people with meritorious services in order to mobilize strength and resources to take better care of people with meritorious services, contributing with the Party and the State to well implement the work of "Repaying gratitude", "When drinking water, remember its source".

Visiting and presenting gifts to three policy families in Quynh Luu district, the National Assembly's monitoring delegation hopes that the families will continue to promote the revolutionary traditions of their families and homeland, be exemplary and strive in life.
