On the morning of December 10, 2014, at Tran Quoc Toan Gymnasium (Nam Dinh City), the Organizing Committee of the 7th National Sports Festival 2014 held the opening ceremony of the Traditional Martial Arts Competition. There were 258 athletes from 35 delegations nationwide. The athletes competed in 2 categories: combat and boxing, with 26 sets of medals. In which, the men's combat competition had the following weight categories: 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 64kg, 68kg, 72kg, 76kg; the women's combat competition had the following weight categories: 45kg, 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 64kg. Our province's sports delegation has 4 athletes: Lam Xuan Bach, Pham Van Hieu, Nguyen Tan Van, Ha Trong Hoang Phi will compete in the 51kg, 54kg, 57kg and 72kg men's combat events. According to the competition schedule of the Organizing Committee, on December 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 2014, the athletes will compete in the qualifying round, semi-finals, and finals of the weight categories for men and women. On December 12, 2014, they will compete in the form events. On the afternoon of December 15, 2014, medals will be awarded to the athletes and winning teams of Traditional Martial Arts.

On the third competition day (December 11-12), Athletics will continue to compete in the finals of the following events: women's hammer throw, men's 110m hurdles, men's pole vault, men's triple jump, women's discus throw, women's 100m hurdles, women's 400m, men's 400m, women's 10,000m, men's 4x100m relay and women's 4x100m relay.
On December 10, 2014, the Boxing athletes continued to compete in the quarter-finals in the men's weight categories: 46kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg; women's weight categories: 45kg, 48kg, 51kg to select athletes for the semi-finals. In the afternoon, the boxers competed in 11/12 matches, in the evening they competed in 14/16 matches. Unfortunately, there were 2 athletes from the Hoa Binh delegation: Nguyen Thi Cham gave up, losing to athlete Pham Thi Phuong (Hung Yen) in the 48kg weight category; Athlete Tran Anh Tuan gave up to Huynh Ngoc Vien (Army) in the 69kg weight category. Boxer Tran Quang Thinh (Binh Phuoc) also gave up, losing to boxer Nguyen Van De (Army).

As a result, athlete Pham Thi Nhung (Nam Dinh) quickly defeated athlete Nguyen Thi Thu Hao (Ho Chi Minh City) with a score of 3-0 in the 45kg weight class to compete in the semi-finals. Boxer Pham Thi Nhung won the silver medal at the National Youth Championship in 2011, and the gold medal at the National Youth Championship two consecutive years in 2012 and 2013.
On December 10, 2014, the 4th day of competition in Group A continued. The two women's volleyball matches between the teams: Hai Duong - Army, Vinh Phuc - Thanh Hoa were not beyond the predictions of experts and fans when the teams that were considered stronger, Army and Thanh Hoa, both won. The Army team won Hai Duong team with a score of 3-0, the results of the sets: 25-12, 25-19, 25-16. The Thanh Hoa team won Vinh Phuc team with a score of 3-1, the results of the sets were 25-15, 25-17, 23-25 and 25-13 respectively. In the last match of the day, the Ho Chi Minh City men's volleyball team won 3-0 against the Ninh Binh team with the scores of the sets: 25-19, 25-19, 25-18.
