(Baonghean.vn) -Hue Traditional Craft Festival takes place from April 27 to May 1 with the theme "Quintessence of Vietnamese Crafts" to contribute to promoting the development of crafts and craft villages associated with tourism development.

On the evening of April 27, at the Bia Quoc Hoc stage in Hue city, the opening ceremony of the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2013 took place and was broadcast live on VTV2 channel.

Participating in this Traditional Craft Festival are 250 artisans, 22 craft villages of the host team Hue and 12 famous craft villages across the country such as Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Ha Giang, Bao Truc pottery - Ninh Thuan, Hoi An silk weaving Quang Nam..., and for the first time there is also the participation of foreign partners such as France, Hong Kong with many rich activities taking place throughout Hue city.

At Tu Tuong Park - Hue city, artisans from craft villages directly demonstrate production, guide tourists to participate in making products such as: embroidery, silk spinning, silk weaving, brocade weaving, pottery, zèng weaving, rattan and bamboo, lacquer, enamel, conical hats, wood and jewelry handicrafts, bronze and silver handicrafts, paper flowers, woodblock paintings, calligraphy, embroidery and knitting...

With many impressive highlight programs such as the Vietnam Craft Village Exhibition Fair at Thuong Bac Park; "Magie" textile costume performance with the participation of Designer Minh Hanh and the participation of Francoise Hofmann (France), Patis Tesoro (Philippines), Kinor Yang (Hong Kong) at the National School Beer Stage; Exhibition introducing products of 20 artisans, designers, and creators: hand weaving, frame printing, 3D art knitting, realistic painting on fabric, hand embroidery, fabric dyeing,... at the Hue Culture Museum; The exhibition "The Development Process of the Textile Industry" brings together 15 stories that are personal and family memories associated with the textile industry, told by special Vietnamese people living in France, taking place at the French Cultural Center. After 5 years of organization, the Traditional Craft Festival has become one of the most unique traditional cultural and artistic programs of Hue city, attracting the attention of local people and many domestic and foreign tourists. At the same time, the Festival also contributes to honoring and developing traditional craft villages of Vietnam.
