The Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium delegation worked in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 27, at the Provincial People's Committee Office, Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a working session with the Attaché Delegation of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium on activities to improve the effectiveness of governance and public administration of the province.

Attending the working session, on the side of the Attaché Delegation of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium were the Attachés for Development Cooperation: Mr. Frédéric Ceuppens and Ms. Ngo Thu Huong; on the side of Nghe An were representatives of the leaders of the departments: Home Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment, Natural Resources and Environment.

According to the summary report of the Department of Home Affairs, Nghe An's PAPI Index in 2012 increased by 3 ranks compared to 2011 (ranked 22nd/63 provinces and cities nationwide), but in 2013 it dropped by 15 ranks compared to 2012 (ranked 37th/63 provinces and cities). However, in 2013, Nghe An increased its ranking in 2013, which were public administrative procedures and public service provision capacity compared to 2012...

Currently, Nghe An continues to carry out activities to improve the local PAPI index, focusing on the participation of people at the grassroots level; implementing transparency well; improving accountability to the people; strengthening corruption control in the public sector; focusing on reforming administrative procedures and improving service delivery.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Frédéric Ceuppens, on behalf of the delegation, thanked the province for its warm welcome and stated that the purpose of this visit and working session was to directly discuss with local authorities at all levels about public administration in general and hoped to listen to the difficulties and problems of the province in public administration and governance activities to propose solutions to help Nghe An improve operational efficiency in the coming time.
