Vietnamese delegation attends ASEAN Finance Ministers Meeting

According to VNA correspondent in Kuala Lumpur, on the morning of March 21, the 19th ASEAN Finance Ministers' Meeting (AFMM-19) opened in the capital Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia.

The conference was attended by delegations from 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and representatives of the ASEAN Secretariat.

The Vietnamese delegation was led by Finance Minister Dinh Tien Dung.

According to the program, the Ministers will focus on discussing the promotion of efforts to realize the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by the end of this year, assessing the roadmap for ASEAN's financial and monetary integration, including financial services liberalization, capital account liberalization, capital market development, payment and settlement systems, and banking integration.

The Ministers also discussed other important areas of cooperation such as enhancing regional surveillance, financial infrastructure - the ASEAN Infrastructure Fund, customs, tax, insurance, and financial issues.

Also on the morning of March 21, the 11th ASEAN Central Bank Governors Meeting (ACGM-11) opened at the Kuala Lumpur International Convention Center.
