“The referee may have overlooked a valid goal by Hoa Binh in the first half. That was a situation where my player scored in a non-offside position,” coach Le Quoc Vuong shared with Bongdaplus after the 0-1 loss to PVF CAND on the afternoon of April 6. The controversial situation of the match at Hoa Binh Stadium occurred in the 33rd minute. Defender Huu Tuan had a powerful shot outside the penalty area, sending the ball hitting the crossbar of goalkeeper Phi Minh Long’s goal. After the ball bounced out, two Hoa Binh players, Trung Dao and Quoc Dat, rushed in to cushion the ball. Linesman Pham Van Thinh raised the flag for offside, not recognizing the goal for Hoa Binh.
Vietnam women's team to play friendly match with 2023 World Cup host

The match will take place on July 10 in New Zealand. This will be the last friendly match for the New Zealand and Vietnam women's teams before participating in the 2023 Women's World Cup. New Zealand women's team head coach Jitka Klimková said: "We want to participate in the Women's World Cup in the best possible condition, so facing a team like Vietnam right before the tournament starts will provide us with a combination of opponents to compare in the build-up phase of this campaign."
