(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 22, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs held an online conference to deploy tasks for labor, meritorious people and social affairs in 2015.
Attending and directing the Conference were Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and comrades of the Party Central Committee: Pham Thi Hai Chuyen - Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Truong Thi Mai - Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Committee on Social Affairs. According to reports at the Conference, in 2014, the Nghe An Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs basically completed the planned targets on poverty reduction, care for people with meritorious services, protection and care for children, prevention of social evils as well as tasks of developing the labor market - wages, improving labor relations, vocational training, insurance policies, occupational safety and hygiene... Some notable results are: labor export reached about 106 thousand people, reaching 120.68% of the plan and for the first time the number of Vietnamese workers working under contracts abroad reached over 100 thousand; newly recruited 2.023 million people for vocational training, reaching 113.7% of the plan; the poverty rate nationwide decreased by nearly 2% compared to the end of 2013 (from 7.8% to nearly 5.8%)...
However, in addition to the achievements, the labor, war invalids and social affairs sector still has difficulties and problems such as: the source of exported labor is still limited in terms of professional qualifications, foreign languages and sense of organization and discipline; vocational training enrollment at college and intermediate levels does not meet the plan, the quality of vocational training in some localities and vocational training facilities is still limited; poverty reduction results are not stable, the gap between rich and poor between regions and population groups has not been narrowed; the number of children being abused, abused and injured tends to decrease but the level and complexity is increasing; drug addiction has not been effectively prevented...
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam praised the efforts of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in vocational training, job creation, implementation of policies for meritorious people and social security in 2014. The Deputy Prime Minister also requested the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and localities in the coming time to perfect specific mechanisms and policies, build appropriate models and methods in the activities of the labor, war invalids and social affairs sector nationwide in general and in each locality in particular. In particular, focusing on fundamental and comprehensive innovation in vocational training, strengthening the connection between vocational training establishments and enterprises; focusing on thoroughly handling the backlog of cases of confirmation and recognition of meritorious people; comprehensively reviewing, adjusting and synchronously and effectively implementing policies, programs and projects on sustainable poverty reduction; Promote international cooperation, mobilize resources and experience in building and implementing social protection policies...
