(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of August 8, the Department of Education and Training held a conference to summarize the 2012-2013 school year, deploy tasks for the 2013-2014 school year and summarize 5 years of implementing the emulation movement "Building friendly schools, active students". Attending the conference were comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
In the 2012-2013 school year, the high school graduation rate reached 96.8%; continuing education reached 84.2%; the whole province had 387/480 wards and communes, 9 urban districts meeting the standards of universal preschool education for 5-year-old children; 171/480 wards and communes achieved universal primary education at the right age level 2. During the school year, 59 students were admitted to the Party; 95 students achieved national excellent students; 27 more schools were granted Certificates of educational quality accreditation and 39 schools were recognized as meeting national standards; over 131 billion VND was mobilized from socialized education sources to upgrade school and classroom facilities.

In addition to the achieved results, the conference also pointed out the shortcomings that need to be overcome: Many school projects in some localities have been under construction for a long time, causing difficulties in organizing teaching and learning, affecting the quality of education; the handling of the surplus of teachers in some districts is still slow; the state management of training linkages is still inadequate; school security in some educational and training establishments has not been properly cared for, still posing many potential complications.
In the 2013-2014 school year, the Department of Education and Training is determined to mobilize 21-23% of preschool-age children to attend school, 88-90% of preschool-age children, and over 99% of 5-year-old preschoolers; increase teaching 2 sessions/day, especially in primary and secondary schools; improve the quality of Vietnamese language teaching for ethnic minority students. Actively implement the work of fostering excellent students; tutoring, supporting and helping weak students right from the beginning of the school year to continue to reduce the rate of weak students and dropouts, and increase the rate of good and excellent students.
After 5 years of implementing the emulation movement "Building friendly schools, active students", schools in the province have made many changes in building green-clean-beautiful and safe classrooms; implementing "3 enough" (enough food, enough clothes, enough books to go to school); focusing on training life skills for students...
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Thi Le Thanh praised the outstanding achievements of the education and training sector in the past school year.
