Innovation and development of cooperative activities
On the morning of July 18, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a conference to summarize 5 years of implementing the Project "Continuing to innovate and develop Nghe An Province Cooperatives 2006-2010 in the agricultural sector". Comrade Ho Ngoc Sy - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development chaired the conference.
After 5 years of implementing the project, the province's Agricultural Cooperatives have developed in both depth and breadth. By December 31, 2010, the province had 436/790 cooperatives, an increase of 11.3% compared to 2006. Of which, there were 17 cooperatives specializing in plants and animals; 419 cooperatives providing general services. Districts without cooperatives such as Ky Son, Con Cuong, Que Phong, etc. were formed and put into operation. In the 10 years from 2000 to 2010, the province established 66 new cooperatives operating in accordance with the Law, and at the same time built 36 cooperative models with effective production and business activities.
However, access to State policies supporting cooperatives is still limited, such as: credit policies for agricultural and rural development; technology transfer policies, scientific and technical advances...
Concluding the conference, comrade Ho Ngoc Sy acknowledged the contributions of cooperatives in developing the collective economy and maintaining food security, doing a good job of "midwifery" for the people and local areas. At the same time, he commended 9 collectives and 13 individuals who were awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial People's Committee.
