From now on, “Phu Quoc Prison Historical Relic” is changed to “Phu Quoc Communist Prison Historical Relic”. This amendment was decided by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism based on the Heritage Law and at the request of the People's Committee of Kien Giang province and the relic records.

Phu Quoc Prison Memorial.

The historical site of Cay Dua Prison, also known as Phu Quoc Prison, is located in An Thoi town, Phu Quoc district. This prison was built during the French period, and belonged to the former Cay Dua hamlet, hence its name. Before 1975, Cay Dua Prison was expanded to become the largest prison with the name Phu Quoc War Prisoner Camp or Phu Quoc Communist Prisoner Camp.

The relic site is currently located on the main area of the old prison, with a two-story exhibition house and an outdoor exhibition area of original artifacts that are almost in their original locations. Every year, the relic site welcomes more than 10,000 visitors to learn about the vivid history of Phu Quoc and the history of the nation's struggle.
