Green Aspiration Volunteer Team supports 200 free meals
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of July 3, the Green Aspiration Charity volunteer team distributed 80 free rice cards to candidates at the Ha Huy Tap High School exam site, each card corresponding to a meal, worth 20-25 thousand VND.
This is an activity within the program “Supporting exam season” of Vinh City Youth Union volunteer students. At the Ha Huy Tap High School exam site, the volunteer student team of the Green Aspiration Charity Club will distribute 200 free meals to candidates and their families during the 2 days of the first round of the 2013 University and College entrance exam.
Volunteer students at the Ha Huy Tap High School exam site are looking at the map to promptly pick up and drop off candidates.
Hoang Nam Thai, a candidate from Thanh Chuong, was moved to receive the meal ticket from Chau, saying: “My family is very poor, so when I went to the exam I only had 300,000 VND in my pocket, the money for the trip back, food and accommodation for 2 days was also that much, if it weren't for the volunteer army of Exam Support to help me from finding a place to stay to providing free motorbike taxi service, I would have only had bread to eat. Today when I went to do the exam procedures and found out there was free food, I was so happy!”
Doan Thi Minh Chau - Captain of the Green Aspiration Charity volunteer team gives out free meal coupons to candidates.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, a parent who took his child to the exam, in Ky Anh - Ha Tinh, was also moved: "I heard the volunteer students say that the rice cooked in the army unit had fried fish, braised meat, stir-fried beef, and vegetable soup. Yesterday afternoon, my father and I went out to eat, 25,000 VND per serving, but it was nothing!"
It is known that the volunteer student team of this club has contributed money and mobilized a number of sponsors to implement the free meal program for candidates and their families living far away. Candidates and their families can eat on the spot, with tables and chairs set up, or can have the food brought to their accommodation.
Doan Thi Minh Chau - Captain of the Green Aspiration Volunteer Team said: "Last year, I saw candidates going to the exam but had to find a place to eat far away, it was very difficult. Some spontaneous restaurants did not meet food safety standards. Many candidates went to the exam without money while cheap restaurants often did not have enough nutrition for each meal. We were very concerned and wanted to carry out this program, but partly because of the "tight" budget, partly because we could not find a place to cook. This year, luckily, thanks to an acquaintance, I was able to connect with Regiment 764 - Provincial Military Command to help cook and deliver to the place. Hopefully, the candidates and their families will have a delicious meal, to do better on the exam!"
The volunteer team of the Green Aspiration Charity Club also found more than 10 cheap motels, 2 free motels for 10 candidates, and 40 free motorbike taxis to serve candidates staying far from the exam location. For candidates staying at free exam locations, there will be a volunteer motorbike taxi team to pick them up and drop them off.
