Vietnam Olympic Team Captain: 'We will fight for the Vietnamese flag'
Before leaving for the 2018 Asian Games, team captain Van Quyet said that collective strength is important, not individuals, who do not play a big role in the Vietnamese Olympic team.

“I am lucky to be trusted by my teammates and the coaching staff to be elected captain. I will be the bridge between the players and the coaching staff to make the team run smoothly,” said captain Van Quyet. “A team of 20 players, all 20 of them are captains. Here, no individual is eternal, the collective is the most important.”
After two days of training in Binh Duong, on the morning of August 11, Coach Park Hang-seo and his team left for Indonesia.“The team spirit is very positive at the moment. We feel excited to set out on our mission,” Van Quyet added. “In football, victory or defeat is unpredictable, but once we enter the field, we will fight with the best spirit for the Vietnamese flag.”
Besides the captain, another senior in the Vietnam Olympic team, striker Nguyen Anh Duc, also showed determination. “I am the oldest, so during this training session, I sat down and talked a lot with the younger players to find harmony with the group. I will try to approach, adapt and devote myself to the Vietnam Olympic team.”
