Cigarette dealer crashes car into police, jumps into river to escape
Ordered by the authorities to stop for inspection, one of the two cigarette traffickers crashed his car straight into the police, then jumped into the river to escape, leaving behind 800 packs of Hero and Jet cigarettes.
At around 4 a.m. on January 31, receiving a report from a scout, the police of An Chau town, Chau Thanh district (An Giang) ambushed a group of people transporting smuggled cigarettes for sale.

When arriving at Hoa Long 3 hamlet, An Chau town, the police force discovered and signaled the subjects to stop the vehicle for inspection. Immediately, one subject jumped out of the vehicle and fled, while another subject drove a motorbike with license plate 66K9-2349, accelerated and crashed straight into the working group's vehicle, then abandoned the vehicle and jumped into the river to escape.

At the scene, An Chau town police seized two motorbikes with license plates: 60N2-7594 and 66K9-2349. Upon inspection, they discovered 800 packs of Hero and Jet brand cigarettes.
Currently, the vehicle and evidence are being detained by An Chau town police for handling according to regulations.
