Facing a team currently ranked third in the world, Italy, the Vietnamese Futsal team seemed overwhelmed and lost with a rather heavy score of 0-9.

However, this was a match in which coach Sergio Gargelli and his team showed their best, especially in the last 10 minutes of the second half.

Less than two minutes after the opening whistle, the Vietnamese team conceded the first goal. It was player Assis Saad who opened the score for Italy with an impromptu lob over goalkeeper Buu Phuoc.

The Vietnam Futsal team had not yet stabilized their formation after conceding the goal when Saad once again scored a goal to double the gap for the away team.

From the moment the second goal was conceded, the ball almost only rolled on the home team's field. The Italian players, mainly players of Brazilian origin, mesmerized the fans in the stands of Tan Binh Stadium. At the end of the first half, the Vietnam Futsal team was down 0-4.

In the first minutes of the second half, the Italian team also took the lead with five goals scored in less than eight minutes. After leading 9-0, coach Roberto Menichelli asked his players to give the initiative back to Vietnam.

In the last 10 minutes of the match, the home team took the initiative in keeping the ball but still could not penetrate the well-organized and scientific defense of Italy. The match ended with the Vietnam Futsal team losing with a score of 0-9.

In the previous match between Kuwait and Uzbekistan, the Middle Eastern team started the game better, scoring two goals in the first half. However, in the second half, Kuwait's goalkeeper Abdullah Hayah had to pick the ball out of his net three times. Fortunately, they managed to bring the match back to the starting line 3-3 before the end of the match.

The match ended 3-3 after 40 minutes of regulation time. According to the tournament format, the matches will not end in a draw but will go to a 6m penalty shootout to determine the winner. On the penalty spot, Kuwaiti players won 4-2 against Uzbekistan.

On October 27, the tournament continues with two matches between Italy and Uzbekistan and host Vietnam and Kuwait./.
