The Vietnam U20 team continued to have a 3-0 victory over Guam U20 in the second match of Group A of the 2025 AFC U20 qualifiers.

On the evening of September 25, the U20 Vietnam team entered the second match of the U20 Asia qualifiers against the U20 Guam team. The U20 Vietnam team needed a good goal difference in the group stage, in case they finished second in the qualifiers and had to compare the secondary index with other teams to win a ticket to the final (only 5/10 second-placed teams can enter the final). Therefore, coach Hua Hien Vinh sent out his strongest squad to compete with U20 Guam.

The two teams entered the match with a probing stance. The U20 Vietnam team gradually took control of the ball, but poor coordination in the final third of the field made it difficult for the red-and-yellow-star team to create scoring opportunities.

Coach Hua Hien Vinh's players were quite stuck in the first half, but a surprise happened in the 23rd minute when a defender of the U20 Guam team handled the ball in the penalty area and had to accept a penalty. Le Phat successfully executed the 11m kick to bring home the opening goal of the match.

After scoring, U20 Vietnam's performance did not improve. However, before the break, U20 Vietnam scored a goal to increase the score to 2-0 after Cong Phuong successfully executed a free kick.

Entering the second half, the U20 Vietnam team was still quite stuck in organizing attacks. There were times when coach Hua Hien Vinh let his players play defensive counter-attacks, but due to poor coordination between the front lines, U20 Vietnam still could not improve in creating scoring opportunities.

In the 64th minute, the U20 Guam goalkeeper rushed out of the penalty area and fouled Minh Tien, so he was sent off. The away team had only 10 players on the field, giving the U20 Vietnam team an advantage in personnel.

The U20 Vietnam team increased the pressure, and scored another goal thanks to player Hoang Khanh, thereby sealing a 3-0 victory for U20 Vietnam.
