Vietnam Team: If you want to go fast, go slow
(Baonghean.vn) - Initial success is difficult, to achieve subsequent success is many times more difficult. Only after losing to the Iranian team did we realize that we are only taking the first steps on the right path.
The happy handshake after the match between Park Hang-seo and Carloz Queiroz ended a match where the winner was naturally happy and the loser had nothing to be sad about.
A team that is making some changes like Vietnam after years of struggling in the Southeast Asian “village” has been defeated by the current number 1 force in Asian football. Iran has huge ambitions at the world level just like we dream about the continent.

Vietnamese fans have become accustomed to the feeling of joy after each victory of the Vietnamese national team over the past year. Therefore, even though we know we will lose to Iran, the feeling of disappointment is still unavoidable. It feels like we lacked a bit of luck against Iraq and Iran, but surely to make up for that lack of luck, Vietnamese football still needs a lot of time ahead.
Despite losing the first two matches, the Vietnamese team is still highly regarded. The difference is that the inferiority complex has disappeared when Vietnam meets a big team in the region. Yesterday (January 12), the Vietnamese team played with all their might for half the second half, ready to attack Iran. It was truly an interesting experience, if we are confident, we will make a difference. Before that, the Iraqis also had to sweat to have a minimal 3-2 victory against a Vietnam that was still "learning" in the continental playground.

However, it must be recognized that Vietnam's opponents in this year's Asian tournament have superior physique, physical strength, and technical and tactical thinking. We only have the first generation of players who have reached out of Southeast Asia a little bit, but in fact, we are still quite far from international standards.
Vietnamese football is taking steps in the right direction, that is the important thing. We are at the beginning of a long journey. If we continue to have good players like the current generation, then gradually change the average height, train better in technical and tactical thinking, then the continental dream is not too far away.
Even if FIFA's 48-team idea comes true, the World Cup dream is not too far out of reach. But if you want to go fast, take it slow.
