Song Lam Nghe An U12 team faces Olympique Lyonnais at the International Friendly Tournament
(Baonghean.vn) - For the first time, the young players of the U12 Song Lam Nghe An team were able to "go abroad" to participate in an international friendly tournament. This was a trip representing Vietnamese youth football to participate in the "58 Fighter Cup" International Youth Football Tournament held in Hunan province (China).
From November 18 to November 25, 2023, U12Lam River Nghe Anwith 16 players and coaches will participate in the International Youth Football Tournament “58 Fighter Cup” taking place in Hunan province (China). The tournament has the participation of 8 teams, in addition to Song Lam Nghe An, there is also 1 team from Japan along with 4 teams from China and 2 teams from Europe.
Notably, there are the participation of youth teams of famous European clubs such as Olympique Lyonnais (France) and Benfica (Portugal). U12 Song Lam Nghe An team is placed in group B with Evergrande Football School, Chinese Football Boys and Olympique Lyonnais.
According to the tournament rules, 8 teams will be divided into 2 groups, compete in a round robin to calculate points, find 4 pairs to compete in the semi-finals as well as the ranking order.
Coach Le Van Hung said: “The coaching staff and U12 Song Lam Nghe An have urgently completed preparations for the tournament. This time we have selected 16 athletes to participate in the tournament. The goal we set for this tournament is to compete and gain experience for the young players.”
It is expected that the U12 Song Lam Nghe An team will have its first match of the tournament on November 20. This is considered a good opportunity for the U12 Song Lam Nghe An team to have the first preparation for the National Youth Football Tournament taking place in May 2024./.
