Receiving the certificate of historical and architectural relic of Dinh Chay
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 22, the People's Committee of Dien Chau district held a ceremony to receive the certificate of recognition as a provincial-level historical and architectural relic of Dinh Chay in Dien Yen commune.
Dinh Chay is a village communal house, now located in hamlet 8, Dien Yen commune (Dien Chau), built by the local people during the Nguyen Dynasty in the early 19th century to worship three deities: Cao Son - Cao Cac, the village's God; to worship General Quan Luong, who helped King Le fight the Ming invaders; and to worship the founder of Ca Tru, Tran Duc Chinh. During the resistance war against the French colonialists, the communal house was the secret place of activities of the Yen Ly Party Cell. This was also the place where drums were beaten to gather the people of Van Phan commune to rise up and seize power in 1945. Since then, Dinh Chay has become a place for cultural activities of the people here.

In addition to its historical value, Dinh Chay is also a valuable architectural work of art. The communal house has 5 compartments and is made of ironwood. What is special is that in addition to being larger and more majestic than all the existing communal houses in Dien Chau, the pillars and rafters are carved with patterns and embossed images: Buddha's hand, dragon and phoenix, dragon and longevity, carp transforming into dragon... in a sophisticated way, expressing the wishes of the people here for peace, prosperity and successful children.
