Receiving the certificate of Provincial Historical and Cultural Relic of Cong Temple
The People's Committee of Quynh Hung commune, Quynh Luu district has just held a ceremony to receive the certificate of recognition of the Gong Temple Historical and Cultural Relic from the Provincial People's Committee.
Cong Temple was built in 1471, in the ancient village of Tien Yen (in Quynh Hung commune, Quynh Luu district today). This is an ancient architectural work to worship and commemorate the merits of two gods, General Dinh Le and General Dinh Liet, who had contributed to the two resistance wars against the Yuan-Mongol army and the Ming invaders.
The temple also worships 53 sages who helped people reclaim wasteland, develop rice cultivation and foster the tradition of studiousness of the ancient Tien Yen village.
