Receiving the National Heritage Site Certificate for Ho Phi Tich Tomb and Church

(Baonghean.vn) - Today, March 28, 2015, the People's Committee of Quynh Doi commune solemnly held a ceremony to receive the National Monument Certificate for the historical site of Ho Phi Tich's tomb and church. Attending the ceremony were Comrade Ho Mau Thanh – Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and leaders of Quynh Luu district.

The Ho Phi Tich family relic site is located within the Ho Tung Mau mausoleum complex in Hamlet 3, Quynh Doi Commune. With a total area of ​​2,500 square meters, it is the place of worship for the late Ho Phi Tich, a high-ranking official and Duke. Ho Phi Tich, whose given name was Ky, was born on May 15th, 1665 (the year of the Snake) during the reign of King Le Hien Tong, in the 3rd year of the Canh Tri era, in Hoan Hau Commune (now Quynh Doi Commune, Quynh Luu District). He was the fourth son of the Marquis of Diem Trach, Ho The Anh. In the year of the Rat (1684), during the reign of King Le Hy Tong, in the Chinh Hoa era, he participated in the provincial examination and passed with the highest score. He then continued to participate in the provincial examination and passed at the age of 20.

In the year Quy Dau (1693), during the reign of King Le Hy Tong, in the 14th year of the Chinh Hoa era, he passed the Thien Ha Vong Si examination (the Vong examination was a special examination for those with high prestige among the literati to be appointed to positions).

In the year Dinh Suu (1697) of the reign of King Le Hy Tong, in the 18th year of the Chinh Hoa era, Ho Phi Tich continued to participate in the provincial examination and passed with the highest rank, and was appointed as a teacher in Quoc Oai district.

In the year Canh Thin (1700) during the reign of King Le Hy Tong, in the 21st year of the Chinh Hoa era, he passed the second-class doctoral examination (Hoang Giap).

After passing the Imperial Examination with the highest rank (Hoang Giap), Ho Phi Tich returned to his village to pay respects to his ancestors. In November 1700, he returned to assume the position of Han Lam Vien Hieu Ly (Academy of Han Lam).

In the year of Nhâm Ngọ (1702), he served as a district governor in the provinces of Hải Dương and then Quảng Yên. He was credited with suppressing the rebel faction and defeating pirates, so he was rewarded with 200 quan of money.

In the year of Tan Mao 1711, the 7th year of the Vinh Thinh reign, he presented the king with a petition outlining his policies for governing the people, consisting of 8 chapters with clear reasoning and strategies that benefited the country and its people. The king praised him and rewarded him with a large amount of silver and silk.

In the year of Nhâm Thìn (1712), he was promoted to the position of Minister of the Board of Revenue.

In the year of Quy Ty (1713), he was specially assigned to distribute alms in the districts of Thien Loc, Thach Ha, Ky Hoa and Chau Bo Chanh. He worked simply and honestly, and was greatly appreciated and loved by the officials and people of the four districts, so they wrote a petition to the king praising him as a man of integrity and diligence....

In the year of Ất Tỵ (1725), he was sent to China to re-investigate and survey the Tuyên Quang border, and regained control of the Tụ Long copper mine.

In the year of Dinh Mui (1727), obeying the court's order to investigate lawsuits in the provinces, build dams, combat drought, and everyone was enthusiastic. In addition, he had many meritorious deeds to help the people and the country....

This is the 8th National-level historical site of Quynh Doi commune, an event of significant historical importance, a source of pride for the Party Committee and people of Quynh Luu district in general; and for the cadres, Party members, people, and the Ho Phi Tich family of Quynh Doi commune in particular. It expresses reverence, gratitude, and remembrance of the immense contributions of our ancestors throughout 4,000 years of history in building and defending the nation; and admiration for a historical and solemn structure that has glorified the golden pages of the cultural and revolutionary history of Quynh Doi - a heroic commune.
