The first spinal pain consultation and treatment unit in Vietnam
On April 8, the Central Acupuncture Hospital, Ministry of Health, held the opening ceremony of the first "Spinal Pain Consulting, Treatment and Control Unit" in the country.

People can register for medical examination and treatment in the morning (from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) and afternoon (from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) every day.
Director of the Central Acupuncture Hospital, Associate Professor, Doctor Nghiem Huu Thanh said that in the past, the hospital received about 700-800 patients with spinal pain each year; now it has increased to more than 1,000 people (accounting for 15-20% of the total number of patients at the Institute).
Although the number of patients with spinal pain is increasing, only 10% of these patients are indicated for surgery and the remaining 90% are treated medically with oriental medicine, rehabilitation and traditional medicine.
The establishment of the “Spinal Pain Consultation, Treatment and Control Unit” will meet the medical examination and treatment needs of the people; this is the first and only model in the country to apply comprehensive solutions to the treatment of spinal pain.
These methods will bring high treatment efficiency, helping patients recover quickly. At the same time, patients will be guided in exercise methods to overcome spinal degeneration, herniated discs and can "live peacefully" with this disease.
On this occasion, the Central Acupuncture Hospital also organized a seminar on "Consultation, treatment and control of spine-lumbar pain" with the participation of many professors and medical specialists.
The reports at the conference focused on the scientific basis of electroacupuncture - acupressure - medicinal bath in the treatment of spinal and lumbar spine pain; health care and treatment processes using steam baths, medicinal soaks, herbal baths, lotus-style acupressure massage; consultation on internal and surgical spinal pathologies.../.
