According to incomplete statistics, by the morning of June 28, in Ky Son district, 110 houses collapsed, were swept away by water, 700 households had to be evacuated; 5 schools were swept away by flood, 1 24-seat passenger bus, 3 cars, 1 motorboat, 3 motorboats were swept away; the area of rice and crops damaged by flood was 70 hectares; 65 hectares of fish ponds; 4 nurseries equivalent to 1,000 square meters; 31 cows and buffaloes, 11 domestic water works, 8 irrigation works were damaged.
Regarding transportation: National Highway 7A running along the district has many sections with heavy landslides, the intra-district route is blocked and cut off. My Ly commune alone is cut off; 2 suspension bridges were washed away. Because the flood occurred during the day and proactive prevention was taken, there were no human casualties. The total damage caused by storm No. 2 in the district is estimated at more than 140 billion VND, not including transportation.
During the flood, the People's Committee of Ky Son district convened an emergency meeting, implemented the "4 on-site" motto, mobilized all forces to help people evacuate day and night, and only yesterday (June 27) was the district's internal road cleared; At the same time, organized visits and gave gifts to families with heavy losses. In the immediate future, 10 million VND was provided for houses that were swept away, and 5 million VND was provided for damaged houses. The district established 4 groups to go to the grassroots to help people overcome the consequences and count the damage; directed the district's preventive medicine center to deploy a plan to prevent epidemics after the flood.

At the meeting, Ky Son district proposed the province to urgently support 50 tons of rice to distribute to houses that were washed away or collapsed; support families whose houses were completely washed away to buy clothes and household items. The Provincial People's Committee directed to restore traffic on Highway 7 to serve people's travel, especially to take children to university entrance exams. The district requested the agricultural sector to support seeds for people to restore production and provide gasoline for the district.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Phan Dinh Trac highly appreciated the efforts to overcome the damage caused by the flood in Ky Son district. He noted: the workload is still large, the district needs to mobilize local forces, schools, collect assets, disinfect, detoxify, build temporary houses, schools, temporary shelters for people. Organize hunger relief for people in flooded areas. Support for students taking university entrance exams; Conduct leveling of sand and soil on main roads, at divided places. The Department of Transport mobilizes vehicles and human resources to overcome landslides. Organize the transportation of gasoline, rice, salt to Ky Son district, support seeds for people to produce. In the immediate future, support for each household whose house completely collapsed is 17 million VND, for collapsed houses that are not washed away is 7 million VND, support for living items for families whose houses were washed away or collapsed is from 2 to 3 million VND. The amount of money and relief goods must be transported promptly, allocated to the right subjects, and directly to the hands of the damaged people. Step up propaganda and mobilize individuals, organizations and philanthropists to support people in districts affected by floods in the province.
