Overview of the working session

The activities of the Thanh Chuong District People's Council after the election for the new term 2011-2016 have had many innovations, better affirming the role of the elected body. In particular, it has coordinated and created favorable conditions for the authorities at the same level in implementing socio-economic, defense and security tasks. Through contacting voters to gather and issue documents urging specialized agencies and the District People's Committee to focus on effectively resolving voters' recommendations. The District People's Council has also known how to select many contents related to socio-economic, defense and security to focus on monitoring, on that basis promptly detecting inadequacies and problems in order to promptly correct them, contributing to bringing the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws into life. The Standing Committee of the District People's Council has also paid attention to training the operational capacity of the district and grassroots People's Council delegates, raising awareness, promptly grasping the Party and State's policies and guidelines as well as operational skills for district and commune People's Council delegates. The quality of issuing Resolutions and the quality of organizing the district People's Council meetings have been improved.

At the meeting, the issues of concern to the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council such as: whether or not to maintain the organization of the People's Council at the district level; the effectiveness of public reception work, handling of voters' complaints and denunciations; spending for People's Council activities... were also clarified by the Standing Committee of the Thanh Chuong District People's Council.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh acknowledged the results achieved by the District People's Council, and at the same time hoped that the District People's Council would improve the quality of supervision, focusing on supervising the promulgation of legal documents at all levels in the area. Strengthen the activities of the Delegation Group, promote the quality of the People's Council's activities. The District Fatherland Front Committee needs to have a mechanism to supervise the quality of activities of People's Council delegates to support the District People's Council Standing Committee to improve the quality of the People's Council's activities. Comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh also acknowledged the recommendations and proposals of the district to resolve in the coming time.
