According to the design, the pumping station of this project has a capacity of 7,000 m3/hour, serving irrigation for over 45,000 hectares of rice. Currently, the project has completed over 70% of the work of the main part. According to the plan, Nam Dan 2 culvert will be completed in 2014.

In Hung Nguyen, the Delegation inspected Hung Chau Pumping Station. This is the main pumping station consisting of 8 units, with a capacity of 8,000m3/h/unit. This project is responsible for ensuring irrigation for over 8,000 hectares of rice and drainage for nearly 2,400 hectares of rice in 6 communes of Hung Nguyen. Next, the Delegation visited Hoang Can - Hung Tan Canal. The canal is over 17 km long, stretching from Hung Tan commune to Hung Loi commune. Currently, the canal has been dredged over 4.5 km to serve drought prevention work for summer-autumn production. This is an important canal project ensuring water supply for 10 communes of Hung Nguyen. Currently, the water supply work to ensure irrigation is basically completed. Comrade Dinh Viet Hong requested Nam Irrigation Company to coordinate with relevant units to do a good job of preventing landslides before and during the rainy and stormy season.

Leaving Hung Nguyen, the delegation went to Nghi Loc to inspect the current status of Khe Lang dam (Nghi Kieu). This dam is responsible for irrigating 300 hectares of rice fields in Nghi Kieu commune. In 2011, due to the incident of joints collapsing, the sluice gate was degraded, and there was a risk of the dam breaking, which was very dangerous. Currently, the direction of the repair is being accelerated. At Nghi Quang sluice gate project, the system includes 13 sluice gates, responsible for draining water for the entire southern irrigation system. The Vice Chairman requested the Company to promptly focus on maintenance and testing of the sluice gates to prepare for the 2012 flood drainage season.
