Comrade Dinh Viet Hong inspected spring crop production in Quynh Luu, Dien Chau and Yen Thanh
(Baonghean.vn) -On February 3, 2012, Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the production situation of the 2012 Spring crop in the districts of Quynh Luu, Dien Chau and Yen Thanh. Also present were leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Up to this point, the key rice growing areas of the province have all started to plant spring crops. Specifically, Quynh Luu district has planted 5,800 hectares of rice, 1,500 hectares of peanuts; Dien Chau district has planted 6,000 hectares of rice (67% of the plan), planted 2,145 hectares of peanuts (65% of the plan), and planted 350 hectares of corn; Yen Thanh district has planted more than 12,000 hectares of rice/13,400 hectares of the plan, planted 350 hectares of corn, 150 hectares of peanuts, and has also developed many more areas of various vegetables.

After inspecting the actual situation, comrade Dinh Viet Hong highly appreciated the serious compliance with the direction of the agricultural sector on crop season, seed structure as well as the application of scientific and technical advances in production of the above localities, especially the area of rice seedlings was covered with 100% nylon so that the phenomenon of seedlings dying from cold and causing shortage of seedlings did not occur. However, he also reminded that localities should not be subjective, need to have measures to strengthen inspection work, closely follow the fields to have measures to prevent pests and diseases effectively after planting.
In particular, currently, Yen Thanh and Quynh Luu have outbreaks of avian influenza. Localities must strengthen epidemic surveillance to promptly handle, isolate and contain the epidemic, and prevent it from spreading.
