(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 30, Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the progress of the banana planting and processing project in Vien Thanh commune (Yen Thanh). Accompanying him were representatives from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Planning and Investment, the Department of Finance and leaders of the Provincial Police.
The project of growing and processing banana products of Globe Farm Korea Co., Ltd. was granted an Investment Certificate by the Provincial People's Committee in 2010 in Yen Thanh district, with a total capital of 3 million USD. Accordingly, the investor will establish a banana farm and export products with a scale of 10,000 tons/year, the banana growing area is 200 hectares, leased from agricultural production land allocated to households and individuals according to Government Decree No. 64/ND-CP, with a lease term of 20 years. Up to now, Yen Thanh district has completed the land lease contract procedures with farmers in Vien Thanh commune for 52 hectares. On the entire area, the investor Globe Farm has planted bananas according to the High-tech Agricultural Application Program, the garden is currently growing well and some areas have been harvested.
Currently, investors are facing some difficulties and problems: In addition to 52 hectares of bananas planted, equivalent to 104 thousand seedlings, the company's nursery has over 40 thousand seedlings but currently there is no land to plant, due to the slow land handover from the commune; the infrastructure system, electricity system, and factory have not been resolved, so processing and transporting products is difficult; the security and order situation in the raw material area is complicated, etc.
Concluding the meeting, comrade Dinh Viet Hong affirmed: The banana planting and processing project is one of the first high-tech projects in agriculture in Nghe An. Therefore, Nghe An welcomes and will create maximum conditions for the project to operate and continue to develop. To ensure the progress as committed, the vice chairman of the provincial People's Committee requested the leaders of Yen Thanh district to focus on directing Vien Thanh commune to mobilize people to hand over the remaining land area soon. In particular, to propagate so that people know, understand and support the province's investment calling policy. At the same time, urge investors to organize compensation and site clearance according to regulations, promptly complete the bridge and road system, create conditions for the company to operate and create trust for the people. On the company's side, it is also necessary to have close coordination with local authorities to consider reasonable compensation prices for the people, creating high consensus so that the project can be put into operation on schedule, bringing high economic efficiency./.
