(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 6, at the headquarters of the Tuong Duong District Party Committee, a working delegation led by Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Duc Phoc had a working session with the Standing Committee of the Tuong Duong District Party Committee to grasp the socio-economic situation and at the same time remove current difficulties and obstacles of the district.

Comrade Pham Trong Hoang reported on the socio-economic situation of Tuong Duong district in the first 8 months of 2015.

Reporting at the meeting, Comrade Pham Trong Hoang - Secretary of the District Party Committee clearly stated the socio-economic situation, national defense - security, Party building, political system building in the first 8 months of the year and the tasks that have been, are being and will be implemented after successfully organizing the District Party Congress for the term 2015-2020. Specifically, in the first 8 months of the year, the district has achieved outstanding results, such as directing the overcoming of drought, ensuring the planned planting area; maintaining, building and expanding agricultural and forestry economic development models; focusing on leading and directing the acceleration of projects serving economic development and people's livelihood...

In the first 8 months of the year, the district has built 16 new models, bringing the total number of economic models in the district to 234. Many of these models have brought high economic efficiency, such as the model of planting Cat apple trees in Mai Son and Huu Khuong communes; passion fruit trees in 3 communes in the above areas and the model of raising wild ducks in Tam Quang commune. The movement to build new rural areas continues to be implemented, up to now, Tuong Duong is the first district 30a in the country to have a commune reaching the new rural area finish line; many key works and projects in the district have been completed on schedule and put into use, such as: Lam River bank embankment project through Hoa Binh town, Luom village suspension bridge (Yen Thang commune), Khe Ngau village suspension bridge (Xa Luong commune); project to build infrastructure for resettlement areas to urgently relocate people from areas at risk of flash floods, landslides in Yen Tinh and Luong Minh communes; The rural electricity project for Huu Khuong, Nhon Mai and Mai Son communes is being actively implemented and strives to provide electricity for Nhon Mai commune by the end of September. It is expected that the remaining two communes will be supplied with electricity by the end of 2015 at the latest.

After listening to the report on the socio-economic situation of the district and the contributions of the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, departments and branches and recommendations of the district leaders, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated the leadership and direction efforts of the Standing Committee of the Tuong Duong District Party Committee in all fields in the past time. At the same time, he noted: The implementation of action programs needs to be inspected and supervised to promote the achievements and learn from the shortcomings and unreasonable aspects. On this occasion, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee paid special attention to the field of education, because currently Tuong Duong is one of the districts with low quality, shown through the results of the recent high school graduation exam, there are schools with a graduation rate of only over 60%; the high school entrance rate is always the lowest in the province. These are alarming numbers. Therefore, the district leaders need to make specific decisions to improve the students' self-study spirit and the qualifications of the teaching staff. The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that if Nghe An wants to develop its economy comprehensively and evenly, the western districts also need to develop. The root of development lies in knowledge, because without knowledge, it is impossible to absorb and apply scientific and technological advances in production.

Regarding the work of ensuring security in border areas, the Provincial Party Secretary directed the district leaders to strengthen coordination to keep abreast of the situation of free migration, illegal proselytizing, and violations of national security, and not to allow high potential risks. Regarding the recommendations of the district leaders, Comrade Ho Duc Phoc directed the Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies, within the scope of their responsibilities, to create favorable conditions and resolve them thoroughly.

Previously, within the framework of a working trip to mountainous districts on the occasion of the new school year opening day, the Provincial Party Secretary and the working delegation visited and presented gifts to students of Xa Luong Secondary School and 10 poor households in Xa Luong commune (Tuong Duong).
