In 1979, he and his unit continued to fight at the northern border front. During the war years, he had many brave achievements. In peacetime, he retired with the rank of major, a 4/4 disabled veteran. Comrade Le Xuan Dai presented gifts to the Nursing Center for People with Meritorious Services.

On this occasion, the delegation also visited and worked at the Nursing Center for People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution (Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs), a unit responsible for nursing and caring for wounded and sick soldiers, revolutionary veterans, soldiers captured and imprisoned by the enemy or with 81% or more disability. Over the past 8 years since its establishment, the Center has cared for 30,000 people with meritorious services (each nursing session lasts 10 days).

In 2013, the center was assigned by the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to provide nursing care for 8,000 people. In the first 6 months of the year, it has provided 4,000 cares (including 68 meritorious people from Thua Thien-Hue province). Currently, the center has 250 nursing beds with a staff of 65 employees.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Le Xuan Dai acknowledged the efforts of the Center's staff in taking care of people with meritorious services. Nghe An is a locality that contributed a lot of human and material resources to the two resistance wars, so the number of people with meritorious services is still very large. (43,000 Youth Volunteers, 596,000 people participating in the army, 47,000 martyrs, 42,000 veterans, 17,000 sick soldiers, 83,549 people receiving regular allowances). Therefore, the work of taking care of people with meritorious services in the province is still very heavy. Comrade Le Xuan Dai requested the Center's staff to continue to improve medical ethics, responsibility, and dedication to their duties, taking care of people with meritorious services to achieve good results./.
