Comrade Nguyen Van Quang took the oath of office as Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court.

Attending the meeting were comrades: General Secretary To Lam; President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Comrade Tran Thanh Man - Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly chaired and conducted.

According to the voting results, the National Assembly passed the Resolution on electing Comrade Nguyen Van Quang - Member of the Party Central Committee to hold the position of Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021 - 2026 term with 440/441 votes in favor. This Resolution takes effect from the date of approval by the National Assembly.

Immediately after being elected by the National Assembly, comrade Nguyen Van Quang took the oath of office in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the session's regulations.

Before the National Assembly and compatriots and voters nationwide, the new Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court took the oath:

“Under the sacred red flag with yellow star of the Fatherland, before the National Assembly, compatriots and voters of the whole country, I, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, swear: To be absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, to the People, to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; to strive to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.”

Immediately after the oath-taking ceremony, new Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Quang delivered his inaugural speech.

Comrade Nguyen Van Quang was born in 1969, hometown Hai Phong city, has a high degree in political theory, PhD in Law; Member of the 13th Party Central Committee, delegate of the 15th National Assembly.

During his career, he held positions such as: Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy; Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term; Secretary of the 22nd Da Nang City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term; Permanent Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate.

On November 4, Comrade Tran Cam Tu - Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Party agencies presented the Decision of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Central Party agencies appointing Comrade Nguyen Van Quang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate to join the Party Committee, Standing Committee of the Party Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Supreme People's Court for the 2025-2030 term.
