Comrade Phan Xuan Vu - a loyal example in the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement
Comrade Phan Xuan Vu is a shining example of the determination, steadfastness, and wholehearted devotion to the Party of a communist from Nghe Tinh.
Comrade Phan Xuan Vu was born in Doai Ha village, Van Tan commune (now Nam Thanh village, Cam Duong commune), Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh province..Witnessing the miserable life of the people of Van Tan in particular and Cam Xuyen in general under the yoke of domination and exploitation by the feudal colonial regime of the Southern Dynasty, from a young age, comrade Phan Xuan Vu soon formed a patriotic ideology and deep hatred for the enemy.
At the end of 1928, Cam Duong established a branch of the Tan Viet Revolutionary Party with comrade Dang Trong Phuong as Secretary. Thanks to the activities of the association, the progressive patriotic ideology had a strong and profound influence on the patriotic youth Phan Xuan Vu.

At the end of March 1930, after the Ha Tinh Provisional Party Committee was established, comrade Tran Huu Thieu returned to contact a number of patriotic youths and developed the Cam Xuyen revolutionary movement. Although at this time in Cam Duong there were no party members and no communist cell, comrade Phan Xuan Vu and other patriotic youths in the village such as Dang Trong Phuong, Nguyen Van Hoan, etc. proactively contacted district and provincial committee members to carry out activities.
With the enlightenment and guidance of party members, in the last days of March 1930, in the form of opening a forge, the Red Farmers' Association in Cam Duong was established. The Red Farmers' Association in Cam Duong consisted of 3 comrades: Comrade Dang Trong Phuong (elected as group leader), Comrade Phan Xuan Vu and Nguyen Van Hoan.
After its establishment, comrade Phan Xuan Vu and the Farmers' Association quickly carried out propaganda work and built up its forces. Thanks to the active activities of the comrades, in just a short time, the masses who sympathized with the Party and the revolution were enlightened and admitted into the association.
Comrade Phan Xuan Vu's house, located in a secluded location near the foot of the mountain, was one of the meeting places and the exchange of information on the struggle of the association. Implementing the Provincial Party Committee's policy to prepare for the struggle to celebrate the International Day Against Imperialist War (August 1, 1930), the Farmers' Association held a meeting at comrade Phan Xuan Vu's house to discuss specific plans.
On the morning of August 1, 1930, comrade Phan Xuan Vu and his comrades in the Farmers' Association mobilized hundreds of farmers from Doai Ha to coordinate with the people of Canh Hoach, Vinh Luat (Thach Ha), Phu Luu, Lai Thach (Can Loc) communes to march to Can Loc district to demonstrate and present demands. Comrade Phan Xuan Vu was not only a mobilizer and guide but also an active participant in this demonstration.
Responding to the demonstration on September 8, 1930 of the people of Cam Xuyen led by comrade Nguyen Dinh Lien, on the morning of September 9, 1930, when comrade Tran Huu Chuong and Pham The led more than 500 Nhuong Ban people to protest in Ha Tinh town, comrade Phan Xuan Vu and the Farmers' Association called on the people of Doai Ha to quickly join the group. When the protest group reached Quan Kho (Cam Thanh commune), the guards sent soldiers to suppress it.
Not afraid at all, comrade Phan Xuan Vu and the masses still bravely shouted slogans of struggle. The enemy opened fire on the group, killing 7 people and injuring many others. Faced with an unequal situation, the party members and the Farmers' Association guided the people to temporarily retreat.
At the end of March 1931, the Doai Ha village Party cell was established with comrade Phan Xuan Thao as Secretary. Comrade Phan Xuan Vu - Member of the Farmers' Association, with his contributions to the local revolutionary movement, was admitted to the cell and officially joined the Party.
After its establishment, the Doai Ha Party Cell continued to choose comrade Phan Xuan Vu's house as one of the meeting places and the organization's secret printing facility. At comrade Phan Xuan Vu's house, many struggle plans of the Doai Ha village Party Cell took place such as: a demonstration to demonstrate power and coordinate forces with more than 600 people from Van Tan and Ha Nhat communes (Cam Xuyen) at the end of March 1931, a rally to distribute leaflets and plant the Party flag at Dong Don (Yen Hoa) to celebrate International Labor Day on May 1, 1931...
Faced with the strong development of the revolutionary movement in Nghe Tinh, the French colonialists implemented many policies of terror.
Faced with the strong development of the revolutionary movement in Nghe Tinh, the French colonialists implemented many policies of white terror. By the end of December 1931, comrade Phan Xuan Vu was arrested by the enemy at Yen Duong station. After a period of torture and seduction but still unable to extract anything, in early 1932, the enemy was forced to release him back to his hometown.
After being released from prison, comrade Phan Xuan Vu, Phan Xuan Thao and a number of other party members contacted and restored the Doai Ha village Party cell to continue their activities. When the movement was revived, the French colonialists and the feudal government of the Southern Dynasty continued to send soldiers in green uniforms to hunt down and arrest party members.
