(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 8, continuing his working program in Nghe An, Comrade Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member and President visited and worked at the headquarters of Nghe An Rubber Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (under the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group) in Vinh City.
Also attending were comrades: Dao Viet Trung, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Office of the President; Tran Thanh Nam, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; leaders of the Vietnam Rubber Group; and members of the central working delegation.
On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Ho Duc Phoc, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Tran Hong Chau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of a number of departments and branches; officers and workers of Nghe An Rubber Investment and Development Joint Stock Company.

At the working session with the delegation of the President, Mr. Pham Trung Thai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nghe An Rubber Company reported on the company's production and business activities. As of July 31, 2015, the total number of employees of the Company was 620 people. The Company was approved by the People's Committee of Nghe An province to plan on a rubber plantation area of 10,759.6 hectares, located in the three districts of Thanh Chuong, Anh Son and Que Phong. Up to now, it has planted over 4,000 hectares of rubber. The average income in the three years from 2012, 2013, 2014 reached over 5 million VND/person; 100% of employees are covered by social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, ensuring full policies and regimes according to the provisions of the Labor Law.

At the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Vietnam Rubber Group affirmed that rubber trees in Nghe An are growing well compared to other provinces in the North Central region and the entire group. Rubber trees have a long history in Nghe An and have the potential to expand on a large scale in the near future.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Ho Duc Phoc affirmed that Nghe An strongly supports the rubber tree development program in the province and will ensure stability in implementing the rubber tree development plan. At the same time, he said that the issue of land acquisition to expand the planned area must be implemented in accordance with the current characteristics of the residential community in each specific locality. It is necessary to develop rubber in the direction of smallholders, with people owning the area, and businesses supporting seeds, materials, and consuming products.

Concluding the working session, comrade Truong Tan Sang highly appreciated the efforts of the cadres, workers and employees of Nghe An Rubber Development Investment Joint Stock Company. The President directed that the development of rubber tree projects must contribute more actively to the cause of hunger eradication and poverty reduction, shortening the development gap between rural and urban areas, ensuring the process of creating social equity in Uncle Ho's homeland. The President also paid close attention to linking rubber tree development with the programs and goals of the Party and State, paying special attention to rubber tree development associated with new rural construction in border areas, linking economic development with the task of ensuring national security and defense in border areas and remote areas.
