Packing fake sunflower seeds with Thai labels in Vinh city

(Baonghean.vn)- On January 24, the Economic Police Team (Vinh City Police) caught red-handed a case of producing fake Thai label goods.

Police agency counts evidence

The violator is Le Viet Thuc, born in 1964, residing in Dong Vinh ward (Vinh city). Thuc was caught red-handed while packaging fake Thai-brand sunflower seeds. The seized evidence included 14 large sacks containing 995 packages of sunflower seeds with a total weight of 300kg, 1,000 Thai-brand sunflower shells, 1 packaging machine, and 1 table scale.

Through investigation, the subject confessed to buying the laminating machine and packaging from Quang Ninh, and the sunflower seeds were bought at Vinh market and packaged into Thai goods to sell during the Binh Than New Year.

Bags of fake Thai sunflower seeds were discovered and seized.

The case is currently being completed by Vinh City Police to handle violations according to the provisions of law.

Recently, consumer goods and confectionery with Thai labels have been popular among Vinh city residents.
