(Baonghean) - Dong Hop Commune - Quy Hop has 1,805 households with 8,242 people, of which the Thanh and Thai ethnic groups account for over 20%. Most ethnic minorities are poor households. In recent years, the Party Committee, government and mass organizations have regularly paid attention to poverty reduction, with many forms such as training on scientific and technological advances, supporting with many resources such as capital from banks, capital from donations in mass organizations. Thanks to that, the commune's poverty reduction work has always had positive changes.
To carry out the Campaign "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's moral example", from the Party Committee to the mass organizations, a plan has been developed to organize implementation with specific and practical actions to mobilize party members, union members, and association members to contribute to supporting poor households to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses and buy breeding animals to develop the economy.
Responding to the call of the District Party Committee for donations to buy buffaloes and cows for poor households, the Party Committee and the Commune Government recently presented a cow worth more than 8,000,000 VND to Mr. Ha Van Tinh and Ms. Lo Thi Nguyet, poor households of the Thai ethnic group in Dong Ban hamlet. This cow was purchased from the support of officials and civil servants in the commune. Each member of the Commune Party Committee donated 1 month of allowance. It is known that the Dong Hop Commune Party Committee has directed that each year, each organization and union must support the elimination of at least one poor household who is a member of the organization and has a specific address.
With the above actions, it is believed that in the coming years, the poverty rate in Dong Hop commune will decrease rapidly.
