The driving force of development and innovation

(Baonghean) -65 years ago, on June 11, 1948, in the context of the country's numerous difficulties, President Ho Chi Minh issued the "Call for Patriotic Emulation". On December 22, 2007, the Central Party Secretariat decided to take June 11 every year as the Traditional Day of Patriotic Emulation to enhance the position, role and necessity of patriotic emulation in the current cause of national construction and defense.

Over the past 65 years, responding to Uncle Ho's call, the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people have united, joined hands, united hearts, been self-reliant, self-reliant, contributing human and material resources to serve the resistance war, national construction, and helping our country overcome countless difficulties. In Nghe An, the patriotic emulation movement has developed widely among all classes of people, creating great motivation and strength, contributing significantly to the local socio-economic development.

He directed his appeal to everyone, “Regardless of age, young, male, female; rich, poor, big, small, all need to become fighters on the fronts: military, economic, political, cultural”. In President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, patriotic emulation is that each person should do well the specific daily tasks in their working position. “The duty of the Vietnamese people, regardless of whether they are scholars, farmers, workers, merchants, soldiers, whatever they do, they need to compete with each other: Do it quickly, do it well, do it a lot…

The way to do it is: rely on the people's strength and spirit to bring happiness to the people. President Ho Chi Minh's instructions are always timely, correct in all circumstances and guide the way to launch and organize patriotic emulation movements. Through revolutionary practice, over the past 65 years, President Ho Chi Minh's "Call for Patriotic Emulation" has proven that the patriotic emulation movement has great significance and impact on the revolutionary cause of the nation. The spread and influence of the patriotic emulation movement over the years has always been the driving force of the revolution, the driving force of development and innovation, in accordance with Uncle Ho's advice: "Patriotic emulation is a manifestation of the patriotism of every Vietnamese citizen, patriotic emulation is the character and moral quality of patriotic Vietnamese people".

Imbued with the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh: "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation", in recent years, sectors, levels, and mass organizations of our province have launched comprehensive emulation movements, mobilizing the strength of the great national unity bloc, attracting a large number of people from all walks of life to participate, contributing greatly to the renovation process, successfully implementing economic, cultural, social, and national defense and security goals and targets in the spirit of the Resolutions of the Provincial Party Congresses over the terms set forth.

Organize and launch practical and effective emulation movements, closely following key and urgent tasks, weak links, and difficult tasks that need to be solved. In particular, focus on promoting emulation movements: Joining hands to build new rural areas, excellent labor movements, creative labor movements; movements to promote initiatives to improve working methods, implement administrative procedure reforms, apply scientific and technological advances in production... have breathed new life into spiritual life, accelerated the pace of life, labor, study and work of the entire Party Committee and people of the province in response to the requirements of national construction and defense.

In 2013, the patriotic emulation movement was widely launched by the Provincial Emulation and Reward Council in all fields. Activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Uncle Ho's "Call for Patriotic Emulation" were organized in appropriate and economical forms, combined with meetings, commendations and honors of advanced models and new factors in the patriotic emulation movement and in "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh" of agencies, units and localities on the occasion of Uncle Ho's birthday (May 19, 2013) and the Traditional Day of Patriotic Emulation (June 11, 2013).

To practically commemorate this event, our province has issued a Plan for propaganda work to celebrate the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's "Call for Patriotic Emulation" (June 11, 1948 - June 11, 2013). Through propaganda work on mass media channels, it aims to create a strong change in the awareness of cadres, civil servants, people of all ethnic groups, soldiers of the armed forces about the position, role and effect of the patriotic emulation movement in the current period, considering patriotic emulation as a great driving force to promote the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country. At the same time, it arouses the will of self-reliance, self-improvement, self-awareness and creativity of collectives and individuals in the emulation movement in all areas of social life, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals and tasks of socio-economic development in the spirit of the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress.

An emulation content that all levels, all sectors, and all people must implement and must strive to do well is to practice diligence, thrift, integrity, and uprightness, the foundation of a new life, the foundation of patriotic emulation, while resolutely fighting corruption, waste, and bureaucracy. This is the central issue of the patriotic emulation movement in the current revolutionary period, and is also the content of "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh". By doing this, we can create sustainability, socio-political stability, create conditions for socio-economic development, and soon turn Nghe An into a prosperous province as Uncle Ho wished during his lifetime.
