Building the most modern multi-purpose ship of the Vietnam Coast Guard
On November 22, in Da Nang, the Vietnam Coast Guard Command in coordination with Song Thu Corporation held a keel-laying ceremony for the multi-purpose Coast Guard ship DN2000 No. 4 and launched the rescue tugboat with registration number CSB 9004.
The launching ceremony of ship CSB 9004 and keel laying ceremony of ship DN2000 No. 4 took place in the presence of Major General Nguyen Quang Dam - Commander of Vietnam Coast Guard; Mr. Phung Tan Viet, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee; Mr. Kommer Damen, Chairman of Damen Group (Netherlands) and many leaders of related sectors.

On this occasion, Song Thu Corporation also officially started construction of the new multi-purpose coast guard ship DN2000 No. 4 with a length of over 90m, width of 14m, displacement of 2,200 tons, capacity of 12,016 CV, speed of 21 nautical miles/hour. The ship has an operating range of 5,000 nautical miles in Vietnam's seas and continental shelf in wind conditions of level 12, continuous operation time at sea for 40 days and nights.

This is the most modern multi-purpose ship class of the Vietnam Coast Guard, with an advanced, modern design that fully meets international standards. The ship has the function and mission of patrolling to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands, enforcing the law in sea areas and continental shelves; searching and rescuing in Vietnamese and international waters when requested, rescuing distressed ships with a displacement of up to 2,200 tons; transporting troops, providing logistical support to forces operating at sea and islands and performing other tasks when assigned.
“Along with Coast Guard ship 8002, ship DN2000 No. 4 will be the “white doves” at sea, not only ensuring national security but also providing a reliable support for fishermen to go offshore, stick to the sea, and develop the fisheries industry. The ship is expected to be completed after 12 months of construction,” said Colonel Ha Son Hai.

Previously, on the afternoon of November 21, Song Thu Corporation also held a keel-laying ceremony for a specialized dredging vessel with the symbol TSHD 2000 of Rosmorport Company (one of Russia's leading companies in seaport services) witnessed by Mr. Kommer Damen, Chairman of Damen Group (Netherlands) and Mr. A.Tarasenko, General Director of Rosmorport Company.
TSHD 2000 was designed by Damen Group engineers, with an overall length of 80.35m, length between two perpendiculars of 76.10m, design width of 16.20m, draft at half length of 5.60m, large summer draft from baseline of 4.60m, funnel volume at maximum overflow of 2,300m3...
This is the first specialized dredging vessel that Damen Group assigned Song Thu Corporation to build in Vietnam with specialized equipment, materials and strict supervision of the Russian Federation Register to meet the requirements of operation and endurance in the cold climates of this country. This event marks an important milestone for the Vietnamese shipbuilding industry to have more opportunities to reach out to the world.
