Dong Thap won the National U15 Championship - Hyundai Vinashin Cup 2014

Defeating PVF after a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regulation time, Dong Thap won the National U15 Finals – Hyundai Vinashin Cup 2014. This is the third time this team has won the National U15 Championship.

The final match between PVF and Dong Thap took place on the afternoon of August 28 at Thong Nhat Stadium (HCMC). Attending the audience and presenting the award was VFF General Secretary and Head of the Organizing Committee Le Hoai Anh.

The final match between PVF and Dong Thap was considered to be a evenly matched match. The events on the field were quite even. Dong Thap scored an early goal to take the lead after a very technical ball movement and a low shot from the 16m50 line by Tran Cong Minh.

However, PVF showed that they did not give up easily. In an effort to find an equalizer, the home team got an equalizer after Nam Son successfully scored a penalty kick in the final minutes of the first half.

In the second half, both teams created a number of scoring opportunities towards each other's goal. However, the strikers were unable to take advantage of them and had to take the match to the penalty spot after a 1-1 draw in the official 80 minutes.

Dong Thap made a bold decision when replacing main goalkeeper Nhat Truong with reserve goalkeeper Hung Vy. And the substitute goalkeeper played excellently when he partly saved PVF's penalty kick, contributing to Dong Thap's 4-2 victory in the penalty shootout.
